First time at NYNY

Husband and I stayed for 7 nights in a Madison Avenue Deluxe. Had no problem with check-in and the room was ready at 3:00. Had requested a room close to the elevator since we're seniors. No problem, just a short walk. NYNY is so clean and easy to get around in. Their customer service was great. We ended up shipping most of our souvenirs home, since some were a little large. They were very helpful

Dining is super. If you can't find something you like, you aren't looking hard enough. Favorite place to eat was Tom Urban's for breakfast and G & G for dinner. If you go there, make sure to get the Tableside Guacamole, it's fabulous. Sangria ain't to bad either. LOL

If you like to party (we're past that) try Coyote Ugly. If we were younger, it would be great. Time Square Bar and Nine Fine Irishmen were fun.

Hershey's is a fun place to shop. Basically it's the same thing as M&M World. Overall shopping was nice, nothing spectacular. Took enough candy home to kids and grandkids to last a lifetime.

By far, my favorite part of NYNY is the Bridge patio by the outdoor NFI bar. We went out there every morning and had our breakfast, then it was the very last place we went for a drink at night. If you're interested, they make a marvelous Cape Cod (Vodka and cranberry juice).

When we checked out we asked if they could do anything for us. They comped all of our meals and some of the hotel charges. Just for the record, we are far from high rollers. We charged everything we could to our room. Even the meals we ate at other MGM properties.

Going back in April for another week. NYNY is the ONLY place we'll stay.

New York New York used to be my number one choice for a hotel to stay at when i visit vegas but for some reason their customer service just sucks now. Check in was at 3pm and we had a spa suite, i had added an extra night over the phone weeks before we arrived and i asked if i wanted to do an early check if i could she said yes no problem, just let them know. so we got there they said we couldnt because it was a suite so whatever we left and just came back at 3. they said our room was not ready and that it would take 45 min, so we left and i called and they said it still was not ready after an hour. we went back to the hotel around 5 and they still said it was not ready so finally some genius just said we can give you this other room since its taking so long, why did they not do that in the first place. so we get to the room and the whole room smelled liked cigarretes and i just had enough i was too tired to complain just overall it was such a hassle to deal with them.

We checked in late and were given an upgrade to a larger, corner room. We could hear the screams from the coaster riders, but, hey, it's Vegas, and the coaster closed at 10 p.m. Didn't bother us at all. Our room was beautiful and the beds were very comfortable.

The layout is a bit confusing at first, but not too difficult to figure out. We got turned around a few times but never completely lost.

Location was awesome- could easily walk to many other great casinos on the Strip. Really cool ambiance- looked like a street in New York. Restaurants were great. No buffet, but who cares?

Gambling- we didn't win anything at all at New York New York but hit it big across the street at MGM.
Liked: Location, location, location.
Dis-Liked: Got turned around a few times. Confusing layout.

Get a bus pass
We walked up and down the strip for the first few days and got a bus pass for the last two. Can't say how much we appreciated the bus after all of that walking. It's not expensive and it goes to Fremont Street. The pass is $21 for 3 days and well worth it.

We went for our 2nd anniversary. The staff was wonderful. We were given an upgrade without asking for it. Eateries were wonderful. This is the only hotel in Vegas that we will ever stay. Also, hotel very quiet at night.
Liked: Everything

My wife & I stayed at NY NY to celebrate our anniversary. We found the rooms to be clean, comfortable, & had useful amenities. (blow dryer, iron & ironing board). The staff was top notch. Our overall experience was so good that we have 2 return trips planned before the end of 2008.
