never again Nick: bitter From: scott Ca | Overall Exprience:
Stayed: August, 2010 this hotel for one the worst service I have ever seen I think they are cutting back in that area big time finding a cocktail waitress is about as common as a royal flush took over an hour on dollar slots to get a drink the bar Rouge took over twenty minutes get a drink and was half empty had to wave arms over head at bartender and the pool forget it your walking and waiting in line lucky to be there when gas leaked out also oh and Diegos mexican the hostess made us wait out in the main hallway for twenty minutes and the place was empty had to find out there was a bar inside by myself good food but $150.00 for three of us think service would be better oh no fans in bathrooms fogged up and no coffee maker never had room without one of those and to find your way out to the strip good luck |
Review is the opinion of a member and not of Smartervegas.com MGM GRand las vegas not safe place to stay poor security stolen luggage by bellhop Nick: mmcarlson From: carlson | Overall Exprience:
Stayed: August, 2010 We stayed at MGM grand for a business trip. Our first day there the hotel tub backed up and toilet overflowed. On our last day there we left 4 piece of our luggage with the bellhop. We watched him bungy cord up all 4 of our bags together and we also had opened 2 pieces of our luggage in front of him to take some clothes out. In my bag was a dooney and bourke handbag, glasses, shoes, clothes, jewlery etc. My husband had opened 1 of his bags as well w/ 2 expensive men shoes in it etc. When we went to pick up our luggage these 2 bags out of our 4 bags we suddenly missing. They had no explanation for us. We waited over an hour for a manager to come down and talk to us. Who was horrible by the way no personality and did not even apologize for loosing our bags!!! Currently they say that they are investigating it. I'm demanding a full refund from the hotel of our $2000 of goods stolen from us by this hotel. The idiot at lost and found tried to tell me that the hotel has no surveillance cameras. OMG! In conclusion horrible stay and not a safe place to stay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Excellent deal, lovely accommodations, friendly staff Nick: Vegas 1st Timer From: Connecticut | Overall Exprience:
Stayed: December, 2009 The second week in December seems to be very low season, but very high in great deals. Bumped up to Celebrity Suite which was very spacious, lovely and comfortable. The large double sink bathroom had a good-sized jet tub and separate shower. The staff went out of their way to get us a room with a view (although non Strip), and everyone was helpful (called the front desk at midnight with a concern - not the hotel's fault - that was addressed immediately).
While the monorail was right outside, the Duece double-decker bus was a fantastic value and took us everywhere from the full length of the strip, to downtown and other casinos off the strip. Great opportunity to chat with others and pick up tips from them.
The MGM is at one end of the Strip, though, so walking the entire route is next to impossible in one day, especially if you like to stop in all the different casinos.
The deal was so fantastic that my boyfriend said he'd book again on the spot if it could be guaranteed again (through smartervegas.com - $89/night, suite, 3 meals/day each at buffet included). |

Review is the opinion of a member and not of Smartervegas.com Cutting back Nick: anubis From: la | Overall Exprience:
Stayed: May, 2009 Cutting staff has hit muscle here. Small maintenance jobs, broken lamp, are ignored. Too long to get your luggage out on check out, Too big a place to cut staff this much. I like the poker room but they do noy play a $4-8 limit too often. Liked: poker room people and players Dis-Liked: lack of staff Recommended activities: Atmosphere, Gambling / Casinos Recommended for: Young singles, Tourists Would you recommend to your best friend? Probably not |

We had a wonderful vacation time at MGM Grand Nick: Karen From: Mexico | Overall Exprience:
Stayed: September, 2009 For the very first time we stayed at MGM Grand in order to celebrate my parents 40th anniversary. We usually stay at NY NY hotel but we changed our plans this time and it was the most fantastic idea!!!! Great offer, wonderful hotel, excellent facilities and an exceptional location!!!
The buffet is great!!! We were delighted at MGM and we'll go back to Las Vegas staying at the same hotel for sure. Liked: the cozy beds and pillows!!! Dis-Liked: Concierge closes early and unfortunatelly we couldn´t find food during dawn but just before we left we found out it was a restaurant called Diego with extended schedule Recommended activities: Great food / Wine, Atmosphere, Gambling / Casinos Recommended for: An amazing honeymoon, A romantic getaway, Girlfriend getaway, People with disabilities, Older travelers, Tourists Would you recommend to your best friend? Review is the opinion of a member and not of Smartervegas.com Blackjack!! Great Hotel!! Nick: J P From: Vancouver , BC , Canada | Overall Exprience:
Stayed: July, 2008 This Hotel is big ,but the size does not take away from the MGM Grand. The rooms are nice, comfortable and extremely chill, we had a great view of the strip too.
There
is so much food selection ,which is great. High end spots like Michael
Mina to a food court with Mcdonalds, pizza, and philly cheesesteaks.
And the MGM grand Buffet is awesome.
If anything , many of the pools close early around 6 pm,
leaving 1 pool full so be sure to take a dip early.
Great Stay and I'm on smarter vegas to book it again for '09.
oh yea central location and Monorail are +++ |
Review is the opinion of a member and not of Smartervegas.com Wonderful Vegas Experience Nick: AZ Babe From: Northern Arizona | Overall Exprience:
Stayed: March, 2008 My Boyfriend and I stayed at the MGM when we went to CRUEFEST. We had the Celebrity Suite which was quite nice. The restroom was spacious, loved the Jacuzzi Tub. Our room didn't face the strip, but the veiw we had was just as good. The staff was wonderful. The Casino itself was Good. We're not the type to gamble, but it looked inviting. Loved the Monorail, We could get to the Hilton in about 15 minutes. Everything about our stay was excellent!!! I don't know if we'll stay there again, because we would like to try staying at Various hotels while we are in Vegas.... But who knows, This hotel was Very good to us. Review is the opinion of a member and not of Smartervegas.com Fun time at the MGM Grand Nick: Donnie From: Florida | Overall Exprience:
Stayed: October, 2008 Stayed at the MGM Grand for 5 nights, used a promotion and got upgraded to a Celebrity Spa suite. Check-in went smooth and my room was ready right away. The room was huge and the bed was amazingly comfortable (the Jacuzzi was fun as well). You should know the hotel is huge and even after 5 days I still had trouble finding my way around, bring comfortable shoes to give your legs a break from all the walking. There are a few pools and the lazy river is a great idea. It was really fun to take a tube and just flow in circles and do some people watching ;)
If your like me and have to work sometimes during your vacations, you should know the internet in the rooms is NOT free but reasonably priced, at least its wireless so you don't have to be restricted to one place. There's also a business center which has all the business amenities you would need.
Although you'll find everything you need in the hotel itself it nice to check out the other properties in the area. Getting around from the MGM to the other hotels on the strip is pretty easy thanks to the Monorail station which is located inside the hotel, the monorail is cheap and quick and in my opinion is much better than moving around in taxis. Liked: Lazy River & Affordable Rooms Recommended activities: Beach / Sun, Great food / Wine, Atmosphere, Gambling / Casinos, Shopping, Spa Recommended for: Young singles, An amazing honeymoon, A romantic getaway, Girlfriend getaway, People with disabilities, Older travelers, Great pool scene, Families with teenagers, Tourists Would you recommend to your best friend? Review is the opinion of a member and not of Smartervegas.com Great times AT mgm...WE KEEP GOING BACK! Nick: Nurse Mom From: Southern CA | Overall Exprience:
Stayed: February, 2008 My husband and I have stayed at MGM numerous times, and just can't seem to book anywhere else! The rooms are comfy, clean, and the beds are GREAT! There are wonderful placed to dine...from sushi at the Grand Wok, a simlp breakfast at Studio Cafe, to a fine dining experience and the best Kobe beef you will ever set your taste-buds on at Craftsteak! The covenience of the monorail is great, and customer service is excellent! |
Review is the opinion of a member and not of Smartervegas.com Ohhh my god its huge! Nick: PoLY From: NYC | Overall Exprience:
Stayed: August, 2007 Stayed at the MGM Grand for around a week (biz trip). My room was just fine with a very nice view of the strip (used a promo code to book). The room was very good and spacious and the bed was very comfortable so I slept like a baby. The only thing that a little annoyed is the shear size of the hotel! Its huge and it took me 15min to get to the pool from my room and about the same time just to reach the strip from my room, not to mention the number of times I got lost. My recommendation is that you ask for a room close to the elevators otherwise you can do quite a lot of walking.
The hotel is pretty entertaining with lots of stuff to see and do and a nice bonus is the monorail station which stops at the hotel itself. Check out the Lion Habitat right next to the casino its quite nice and free and the CBS Television City Research Center is also fun if you like TV, you can see new TV pilots and rate them and this information helps them decide which show will eventually continue to go on the air (others get cancelled).
As for nightlife you have "Studio 54" and more, but I recommend Studio 54 which I had a really good time at and met a bunch of pretty girls ;) I'm not sure what they charge to get in because the night I went it was free entrance for hotel guests. It was in the middle of the week, I would avoid the clubs at weekends they tend to get very very packed (from what I saw when walking by).
During the day you have a bunch of pools to enjoy (I didn't get much chance to enjoy them since I was working during the day) But when I didn't it was fun and I enjoyed the lazy river (didn't enjoy the 15min walk from my room to the pool I felt like I was trekking).
Now for the best part gambling... I'm a Texas Holdem (poker) fanatic and this is one of the reasons I love the MGM Grand, they have plenty of poker tables although you can easily find yourself waiting for a spot on the table at rush hours. I found a table (late at night) with $1 and $2 blinds and pot limit and $100 buy in, which was just perfect for my low budget. Couldn't find other places on the strip with such low blinds for texas holdem.
I would totally come back here and recommend this hotel to anyone although for myself I would probably choose another hotel next time just for the experience, but it wont be easy to top the MGM Grand its a very good hotel from all aspects in my opinion and if it was smaller I think it would be perfect. Great value for the buck. Liked: Lots of poker tables ;) Dis-Liked: It's too big. "Colio" (gangster paradise) hanging by the elevators trying to get noticed. Recommended activities: Beach / Sun, Business meeting / Event, Gambling / Casinos Recommended for: Young singles, An amazing honeymoon, Girlfriend getaway, Families with young children, Families with teenagers, Tourists Would you recommend to your best friend? Absolutely! |
Review is the opinion of a member and not of Smartervegas.com MGM Grand is HUGE bring comfortable walking shoes The MGM Grand is a very big hotel and you find yourself doing A LOT of walking, bring comfortable shoes and take extra time to get anywhere you need to go. Ask for a room close to the elevators to save some time. |
